What will you be doing?
Your journey begins on the front line, where theory meets practice. You will be strategically placed at one of our project sites working alongside qualified professionals in your field. Here you won’t just observe your role; you will dive in, deploying your professional skills and unwavering diligence.
You’ll initially join our Energy business unit, where we help our customers make the most of their existing assets as well as building significant new assets as part of a major upgrade of the nation’s transmission network – our specialism is major projects in overhead lines, substations and underground cabling.
As a Graduate QS, you’ll be a key contributor to the delivery and implementation of major engineering projects, ensuring we deliver on time and within budget. As part of a talented, multi-disciplinary team, your problem-solving and communication skills will be put to the test as you liaise with customers internal and external stakeholders. From a technical development perspective, you’ll be given exposure to the below and much more:
- Administration and procurement of contracts and subcontracts
- Production of construction forecasts and commercial reporting
- Applying for payment and cash management
- Measurement of materials and equipment from drawings / on site
- Providing commercial advice and guidance to the project team

What are we looking for?

You’ll need:
To be able to commit to travelling independently to sites and be able to stay away from home for short and long periods - our projects are UK-wide and can be in rural and remote locations.
- The ability to drive
- A strong commercial mindset
- A Quantity Surveying (or closely related degree) at a 2:1 or above.
- Ideally some exposure to a construction/engineering environment.
- To be a confident and assertive communicator who thrives on working in a team environment
- The ability to challenge and question well
- An adaptable mindset and a positive approach to challenges and problem solving
- A willingness to learn with a strong interest in professional growth and personal development.
- To be goal oriented with excellent time management skills and the ability to work towards tight deadlines.

Working Hours – 45 hours per week
Working week – Monday – Friday
Starting Salary – £32,305, plus car/car allowance, incentive scheme and a range of competitive benefits
